How do I add the status widget to my website?

Hi! I just signed up and tried to use the default status widget provided but it isn't working and nothing shows up at all. Can I have a tutorial on how to add it to my website?

I think i have a similar problem. I put the widget on my website and it shows up when i open it as a file. Once I upload the file to neocities however it stopps showing up and only displays the border, not the status, username or timestamp.
