Thinking about Digital Audio Players

whitefelinewond	Posted 2026-06-09 00:28:37 I've been thinking about getting a DAP for myself so I can transfer all the music I've downloaded to a separate device that isn't my phone. To water things down, I'm looking for ones that have an SD card slot & can support +256GB SD cards and simple USB transfer (like just hooking it up to a computer and dragging the music to it), extra points if it can play videos (since I also wanna get those off my phone, too). On the side I also wanna know about how Rockbox is and if it's good to have on a DAP or to look into something else. I also preferably wanna steer clear of iPods. I just want something simple and don't wanna go through all sorts of random hoops just for one thing. If anybody knows of a good DAP or two (or multiple) please let me know! A kemono artist on the Autism spectrum. Enjoyer of Linux, NBM, Hawiian pizza, and utililizing art as a means of escapism, communication, & expression. You already knew that last part, probably.
