For me that'd probably be Nomad by Clairo. It's not that obscure, but I think it's just a flawless song all around.

What about you guys?

I 100% agree with your take on Nomad. Honestly that whole album is a masterpiece. It deserves it's ranking in the top 50 of 2024 releases. For me it has to be Biohazard by Momma. Can't recommend it more.

I really wish that people would also try to listen to the band protest the Hero and particularly the song Seqoia Throne by them. When i first discovered them i was so surprised to how underrated they were. Their guitar is flawless and awesome and i rec it extra much for guitarists that wants their skill challenged.

i think more people should listen to 驟雨の狭間 by silentroom. It's a whole emotion in itself.

Grandma/Obaa-Chan off of the Nier Gestalt/Replicant Piano Collections soundtrack:

Honestly, this entire album is sorely looked over. The way the pianos are mic'd up in this album is so beautiful and intimate. If you listen close enough, you can hear the wood of the piano creaking and groaning under the weight of the world being mourned through the sounds of this song.

I mean, TMBG is pretty well known, and a good few of their songs tend to be pretty significant hits. But a song of theirs I feel like is really underrated is Spiraling Shape. People just always look over it.

Definitely Barrier by Stratosfear!! This song just encapsulates the energy that was present in early VOCALOID songs (even though it came out last year) and seeing it having only a thousand views on youtube genuinely pains me a bit lol

I'm glad!! I think it deserved to be a trending VOCALOID song (especially considering that all of the things that have become popular lately sound almost the same...)

Definitely SING by Guy Sigsworth. It's this collection discordant vocals that eventually resolves, and it sounds like being taken out of your body and floating. I listen to it when I need to remove myself from a situation and meditate for a little while. It honestly gets uncomfortable to listen to for a time, but once it resolves it's beautiful. I think it reflects feeling all the shitty feelings and then letting them burst out of you.

I really like Hold Me by Strumbellas recently, because of its rythm and pacing. It could have been me by the Struts is probably a song that fits the topic more as it is very anthemic. As for a more personal vibe - Broken by Noelle Johnson because I really feel that song deeply inside of me :'). A song that will always make me cry is Winds of Change by the Scorpions because my mum was a part of the events that led up to the collapse of the Berlin Wall and her and her peers had to watch all of their hopes become distant dreams. I was also born in the summer of '89. Finally, the most technically underappreciated song is the Poet and the Pendulum by Nightwish - it is a really well-made medley but suffers from the context behind it, so it might be good that it is less known (the context was a temper tantrum thrown by the writer in relation to the former singer who left for a solo career). A bonus mention goes to a tune that I like less but it somehow is a very specific autobiography of many people and it is interesting how many people relate to it - it is Brother by Madds Buckley. Same goes for me as my life also duplicates it. A double bonus mention goes to anything by The Killers - they have the most relatable songs to me.

Just started listening to Fazerdaze's recent song 'Motorway' and I've been really enjoying replaying it, can't wait to put it in when I'm driving home for work at night.

They're a local artist for me so it feels a bit more special. (...also she's hot)
